The UM VPAC Torque drive system is designed to deliver maximum power to the bike’s rear wheel smoothly, quietly and efficiently. The Urban Mover High Torque Motor is so small, it is almost shadowed by the rear gear set
The UM VPAC (Variable Power and Control) sensor Intelligently combines information from the torque and cadence sensors fitted to the main crank, producing an integrated and seamless hybrid riding experience. The UM bespoke software enables the controller, crank sensors and motor to work together, creating a smooth delivery of power.
The benefit of the UM VPAC sensor is most noticeable when starting off, particularly on hills. The MCU (motor Control Unit) in the VPAC recognises the bike is stationary, but once the pedals are depressed, the VPAC communicates with the bike to provide maximum assistance in pedal assist mode.
Optional throttles On some models, you can fit an optional twist grip throttle. When the bike gets moving the cadence sensor recognises you are on the move and enable you to cruise at a steady speed on throttle only. AS soon as you start pedalling, the throttle will gradually reduce the power assistance
Quiet Propulsion System On most of our models, the latest high torque motors are positioned behind the rider. Running noise from the motor then becomes practically inaudible.
Hill StartsThe VPAC system starts and stops almost instantly the moment you put pressure on, or take pressure off the pedals. This immediate reaction has two major advantages:
